How Do You Manage Your Followers on Twitter?
I know you're expecting this How to Manage Your Followers on Twitter post! If you missed my post yesterday, called How to Manage Your Followers on Instagram, you can see it right here: Life's Epic Journey, How to Manage Your Followers on Instagram
If you haven't reviewed the post about managing Instagram Followers I've just shared, I would recommend doing so now. Because I am going to reference a few things I shared in that post here as well.
Okay so, what's the best way to Manage Your Followers on Twitter, you ask?
The consensus with Twitter that I've heard (please keep in mind, this is only hearsay) is Twitter “doesn't seem” to mind third follower apps as much as Instagram does. But, they've still been known to do something about them every now again. So this is really a choice you need to make. Is it worth the risk?
In my opinion, heck no! I work very hard on my Blog and on my social media accounts. So I'm not going to risk anything! Besides, the method to clean up your following and follower lists on Twitter is SO MUCH easier then the method I shared regarding Instagram. I'm happy to report that Twitter's method it's a lot less time consuming too! I mean, it depends on how big your lists are, but you won't spend all day cleaning up your lists on Twitter.
AGAIN-I highly suggest popping over to the post I just shared How to Manage Your Followers on Instagram because there's lots of other information I shared that I'm skipping in this post.
Without Further Ado, Here's an Easy Way to Manage Your Followers on Twitter
#1: Go to your Twitter app on your cell phone, and click on “home” in the top left-hand corner of your screen. This brings you to your profile. Click on the number your are “FOLLOWING”
#2: Just like Instagram, this will bring you to the list of accounts that YOU FOLLOW. Click on the first account in your list
#3: This will bring you to that account's profile, where it immediately says if they follow you. As you can see in the sample below, next to this account's username you'll see “Follows you”
#4: By clicking the back button, it brings you back to your profile's list of accounts that YOU FOLLOW. If there had been nothing shown next to their username (if they don't follow you, it's simply blank where it would say “Follows you”) again, just like Instagram, you can unfollow them right from your list of accounts that you follow. Click the blue icon that says “FOLLOWING” next to the user's profile that you want to unfollow.
#5: You can either confirm “YES” to unfollow this account or “NO” if you don't' want to unfollow them. In this case, I chose the “NO” option because this user does follow me on Twitter.
That's it! Repeat the above steps until you've been through each option in your “FOLLOWING” list. This will help you clean up and eliminate all of the accounts who have either unfollowed you, or not followed you back. The best part, you do this manually without using a third party follower application! Which (just like Instagram) just may be the way Twitter intended it's users to manage their profiles!
The methods I've shown you to manage your followers on Twitter and Instagram can be a bit time-consuming. BUT-I say it's worth the time and effort if doing it this way. It won't risk your account being shadow-banned, or worse! I don't think there is a Content Creator or Blogger out there that wants either to happen to their account.
I hope this step by step guide helps answer the repetitive question that I see pop up time and time and time again and that's: HOW TO: MANAGE YOUR FOLLOWERS TWITTER (or INSTAGRAM)
